Preston RAM declare Tony

Downpours of biblical proportions were encountered on the journey to Garstang Masonic Hall, but that seemed quite appropriate as the reason for the visit was the meeting of Preston RAM No 143. More auspiciously the deluge ceased on reaching the A6 and the rest of the trip was accompanied by glorious rainbows appearing in the east. It was worth enduring  the heavy precipitation for the magnificent colourful bows that then appeared in the sky.

It was the business meeting of the lodge with Worshipful Commander Bill Richmond declaring Tony Thackrah as his successor for the ensuing year.

Not only was Tony delighted to respond to his nomination but he had great pleasure in later proposing his son Steven as a candidate for elevation.
Tony Shaw with the lodge porphyry stone
John Sarti was declared unopposed, you will not be surprised to find out, as treasurer for another year.
On the evening lodge stalwart, and hard-working scribe, Tony Shaw presented a paper about the use of the porphyry stone in the order. It was well received and provided food for thought.

It proved another pleasant evening enjoyed in good company, something perhaps we too readily take for granted when you read or hear about so many people in the present day  feeling isolated and lonely.
